NO REFERRAL NEEDED!

In Pennsylvania, you can be treated without a referral from your physician by a physical therapist with a Direct Access License. Walker Physical Therapy is Direct Access certified, and, as a healthcare consumer, you have the right to choose your physician, your hospital, and your physical therapist.

What is Direct Access?

Direct Access means you have the right to see your physical therapist as your primary practitioner for musculoskeletal complaints. If you have muscular-related aches or pains, there is no need to see your physician first. You can schedule an evaluation with your physical therapist at any time.

Will my insurance cover physical therapy without a referral?

Most common insurances cover direct access to physical therapy. If you call us, we can let you know if your insurance is included.

Benefits of Direct Access:

By choosing to go directly to a physical therapist, there is no delay in treatment, there is decreased cost, and there is decreased frustration. The choice is always yours!

We accept most major insurances and also offer private pay and payment plan options. We strongly encourage you to call your health insurance provider and become familiar with your physical therapy benefits, but we are here to help. Please feel free to call us with any questions. The current insurances we accept are listed below:

  • Aetna
  • Aetna Medicare
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal Employee Program
  • Capital Blue Cross
  • CHAMPVA
  • Cigna/American Specialty Health
  • Geisinger
  • Highmark
  • Humana
  • Medicare Part B
  • MultiPlan
  • Railroad Medicare (Palmetto GBA)
  • Teamsters
  • Tricare
  • UnitedHealthcare
  • UnitedHealthcare Medicare Solutions

If you do not see your insurance provider on this list, please call our office. We are frequently updating our insurance credentialing, and it may not yet have been added.
